Fracking will lead to American energy independence. With the price of natural gas continuing to drop, we can be at a tremendous advantage. (Source)

Mostly Fract. Fracking, along with technologies such as horizontal drilling, has allowed the United States to be the largest oil and natural gas producer in the world – for the past four straight years. Additionally, with natural gas playing a key role in industries such as petrochemical manufacturing, the United States – and especially the Gulf Coast – has been a prime target for billions of dollars in investment and expansion projects over the past several years. Finally, with increased natural gas production, the United States is poised to be a key player in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market, providing our allies with a reliable source of energy. The term “energy independence” suggests the United States is producing all of its own energy and not importing any, which is unlikely to ever happen, especially in an interconnected global economy. But without a doubt, the fracking revolution has helped the United States achieve more energy security.
