Contrary to what the Sundance Kid claims, fracking is a benefit for communities. A University of Chicago study found that shale development is a net benefit where development is taking place, helping to increase jobs, housing prices, average household income and local tax revenue. Additionally, fracking has been shown in multiple studies to not be a major risk to drinking water resources.
