I'm happy to be a part of the conversation if more young people are talking about fracking instead of twerking we're heading in the right direction. While Brand’s comparison between fracking and twerking is odd, he has a point: if more people took the time to understand fracking instead of listening to politicians and celebrities who know nothing about the process, so much confusion about the benefits of the process would be dispelled. For example, understanding how the process helps communities thrive or improves air quality would go a long way in ensuring policymakers are not distracted by celebrities who fracking, and instead help them realize how important a role shale development plays in their daily lives.
