Mostly No. It’s a sad fact that far too many people get diagnosed with cancer, but there is no credible evidence that fracking causes it. According to the latest American Cancer Society data, cancer rates from 2009 to 2013 in Texas were 419.9 per 100,000.  This is much lower than the national average of 458.8 per 100,000, and lower than even states that have banned fracking such as New York (493.3 per 100,000).
